The Windows 9x, 2000, XP, Vista, and 7 platforms lack their own screen recorder. Therefore, CamStudio 2.0, by Janhgm and Nick Smith, provides a free, open-source alternative to your screen-recording needs! Camstudio is lightweight and works on even low-end (modern) PCs out there. Keep in mind, if using a weak system (like a Pentium M), record video at a low resolution and quality, otherwise the video will be choppy and unusable.
Features:
**Adjustable recording quality
**Screen recorder for any PC
**Choices to record full screen or a region
**Customizable interface
**Output of AVI video
**Built-in video playback for recording (can be disabled)
Requirements:
Windows 98 or later (Windows 95 and NT 4.0 untested)
Notes:
**The program plays a recorded video by default, and sets quality to 70 (out of 100). Change these if you desire something else.
