Maxthon is a freeware web browser developed by Chinese company Maxthon International Ltd, with headquarters in Beijing, Hong Kong, and San Francisco. Originally launched in 2002 as MyIE2, the browser evolved from using Internet Explorer’s Trident engine to adopting the Chromium Blink engine in later versions. The modern Maxthon browser, particularly versions based on Chromium 109, offers a wide range of features including a built-in cloud sync service called Maxnote, a password manager known as Passkeeper, an email alias service called UUMail, resource sniffer tools for downloading media, tab management, mouse gestures, and a split-screen browsing mode.
