Microsoft DirectX is a collection of API for handling tasks related to multimedia, game programming and graphics on Microsoft platforms. Original API names began with "Direct:" Direct3D, DirectDraw, DirectMusic, DirectPlay, DirectSound, etc. This edition by Soporific modifies the Microsoft installer to allow Vanilla Windows 98/ME systems to directly install the last version of DirectX 9c compatible with Windows 98/ME. Microsoft's official installer only allowed an upgrade on these systems.
