Internet Explorer 6 SP1 served its time and duty for browsing the internet on Windows 98 and ME during the early 2000's. Today, Internet Explorer 6 won't render most web pages, or even be allowed in many instances. Despite the flaws of IE 6 today, this web browser still serves as a major requirement for installing software. A large amount of Windows 9x software requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or later to successfully install. With IE6, artificial blocks will be satisfied. In some cases, IE6 maybe perfect for compatibility reasons!
Features:
-Trident Web Engine
-DHTML enhancements
-Content restricted inline frames
-Partial support of DOM level 1 and SMIL 2.0
Requirements:
-Windows 98, or Windows NT 4 with SP6a or later
-486/66 MHz processor.
-Super VGA (800 × 600) monitor with 256 colors
-Mouse or compatible pointing device
-RAM: 16-32 MB
-Free disk space: 8.7–12.7 MB
Notes:
-Many websites artificially block Internet Explorer 6 from accessing the page.
-I highly advise using any browser instead of IE6 due to its age. The web browser will not render many modern pages correctly!
